Time marches on...

I've just realised (maybe it is a sign of senility that it just dawned on me...), it has been 20 years since I finished my Grammar school education!
Since then; major surgery, one undergraduate degree, my PhD, a move to Vancouver, research career, married, biotech company boom-and-bust, first house bought, daughter born, second house bought, son born, second house bought, new career....

Can's say life has been slow!

oh dear...

So I'm back... almost 2 years since I last pots. Bloody hell, I suck at this!

Thanks to Jo Weston for responding to one of my posts...

Life goes on, still at UBC with the "new" job. Boss dropped dead at work 2 weeks ago, so we have a "leadership vacuum" right now.
Kids are growing fast; Matthew is 2 and 3 months - talking up a storm. Emma, almost 3... little girly madame!

And I'm still doing renovations! Trying to finish off the Master bathroom right now - it has been about 9 days of work on a 40sq ft space.

I will try to post more often!

oooo an update!

So its been 3 months... the temperature has dropped in Vancouver, it has been raining for about 3 weeks.
The good news? Well I have a "new" job - Sr Research Grants Manager for the Faculty of Graduate Studies at UBC. It ain't brain surgery (like the old job!), but it is 9-5. I've come to realize that hanging with my kids is the most important thing to me right now.
We are gearing up for Halloween, and the 4 of us are going to have so much fun; me probably more that Emma. Speaking of whom... it is her second Birthday today! She actually "became" 2 about 2 months ago (thsoe with kids will know what I mean...).
Hohum... back to doing house renos (took the day off work today). Maybe I'll be back in another 3 months and tell you about my job!

why am I here?

Not really sure why I'm getting into blogging - blame Jo Weston - I found her's, had to register to comment... so here we are... Jason wasting bandwidth again!

It's about 25 celsius here is Vancouver tonight - at 9:37 PST - and I'm sweating my nads off...
Monday is around the corner, another day hanging out with my wonderful 4 month old son Matthew. These days are rapidly running out - I have to give up my "daddy-daycare" soon to return to work (Sept 1).

So, off for some shut-eye (up at 4am no doubt for feedings).. I will try to post something more meaningful over the next few days - maybe when Matthew has a sleep!
